The communities around the mountain also add something special to a visit. Travelers can learn about Bagisu culture, local food, music, and traditions while meeting people who call the slopes of Mount Elgon home.
For someone looking for a different side of Uganda, Mount Elgon is an easy destination to recommend. It combines hiking, waterfalls, coffee, wildlife, and culture without feeling like a typical safari.
