Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1 |   Arrival in Entebbe

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met hotel driver and transferred to your accommodation for a relaxed overnight stay ahead of your safari departure.

DAY 2 |   Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Murchison Falls

Depart Entebbe and drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, one of the few places in East Africa to see white rhino in the wild. Afterwards, have lunch own budget, then continue to Murchison Falls National Park.

DAY 3 |   Murchison Falls Game Drive & Boat Cruise

A full day in Murchison Falls National Park: a morning game drive across the park’s savannah in search of lion, elephant, giraffe and buffalo, followed by a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile toward the base of the thundering Murchison Falls.

DAY 4 |   Transfer to Kibale National Park

Depart Murchison Falls and drive south to Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of East Africa, arriving in time to settle in ahead of tomorrow’s chimpanzee trekking.

DAY 5 |   Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland

Set out into Kibale Forest for a guided chimpanzee trekking experience among habituated troops. In the afternoon, an optional guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary offers the chance to spot birdlife, primates and community life along the trail.

DAY 6 |   Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Travel south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most biodiverse savannah park, straddling the equator and bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains.

DAY 7 |   Kasenyi Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

A morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains in search of lion, hyena, buffalo and large herds of Uganda kob, followed by an afternoon boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its concentrations of hippo, elephant and waterbirds.

DAY 8 |   Ishasha Sector to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Depart Queen Elizabeth and travel through the remote Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, before continuing onward to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

DAY 9 |   Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

The highlight of the safari: a guided trek through the ancient forest of Bwindi to spend a precious hour in the company of a habituated mountain gorilla family, one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters on Earth.

DAY 10  |   Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Depart Bwindi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park, set among acacia woodland, rolling hills and a chain of lakes.

Overnight: Rwakobo Rock, Lake Mburo National Park – FB

DAY 11 |   Walking Safari & Departure

Enjoy a morning walking safari through Lake Mburo National Park, one of the few parks in Uganda where guided walks on foot among wildlife are possible, before transferring back to Entebbe for your departure flight. An evening departure flight is recommended to comfortably fit in the morning activity; alternatively, an extra night in Entebbe or day room can be added to avoid a rushed final day at an extra cost.

  2. The Gorilla Tracking included in this safari depends on the availability of gorilla trekking permits at the time of booking. These permits are strictly limited and sold out in advance, especially during peak seasons of Christmas and school holidays. We therefore strongly recommend booking early.

Changes in the course of the journey, the duration of your tour, the number of travelers, as well as the choice of accommodation are subject to availability, although we always endeavor to stick as closely as possible to this programme. For the majority of itineraries, we can offer luxury, midrange or budget versions of this safari upon request.
