Birdlife is abundant as well, particularly in the forested sections. Wildlife sightings are not the main reason people come here, but they add another layer to the hiking experience.

Mount Kenya National Park can be combined with other destinations in central Kenya and makes an excellent addition to a wider itinerary that includes places such as Samburu, Lake Nakuru, or Maasai Mara.
