Go to Africa Safaris built this 5 day itinerary purely for couples who want a romantic adventure of their own. You trek mountain gorillas together in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, settle into a luxury lodge with a private deck and forest views, share a champagne picnic in the wild, and unwind afterward with a couple’s massage. It brings adventure, luxury, and romance together in one trip.
Every detail here is built for two people, not a group. Private transport, a private guide, and a private trekking experience, with romantic touches woven through each day. This is not a standard safari. It is a celebration of your relationship, from the flight in to the sundowners on your final evening.

This safari runs five days and four nights, starting and ending in Kampala or Kigali.
Flying in place of driving keeps the trip private and comfortable throughout. Your guide is dedicated to your couple only, your lodge is chosen for intimacy, and every moment is planned around the two of you.
Included in this package: one gorilla trekking permit, one champagne picnic, one couple’s massage, and one guided nature walk.
Your private driver collects you from your hotel in Kampala or Kigali and takes you to the executive airport, where you board a small charter aircraft bound for Bwindi. The flight takes about one hour, with sweeping views of the countryside and the Virunga volcanoes along the way.
Your private guide meets you at the airstrip and drives you to your luxury lodge. You check into your honeymoon suite, complete with a private deck overlooking the forest, a fireplace, and a bathtub built for two.
In the late afternoon, a short guided nature walk around the lodge grounds introduces you to the local birds and butterflies, and your guide talks you through tomorrow’s gorilla trek.
The evening closes with a private candlelit dinner on your deck, forest sounds around you and stars overhead.
This is the centerpiece of your safari. After an early gourmet breakfast box from your lodge, your private guide drives you to park headquarters for registration and briefing by 7:00 AM.
Because this trek is private, your group is just the two of you with your guide and ranger, nobody else. Your guide stays in contact with the trackers to reach the gorilla family as efficiently as possible.
The hike takes you through beautiful forest at your own pace, with a porter carrying your daypack. Once you find the gorillas, you get a full hour with them, watching them feed, play, groom, and rest, with the silverback sometimes coming remarkably close. It is a moment that belongs entirely to the two of you.
Afterward, you hike back to the trailhead and your driver returns you to the lodge.
Today is built purely for romance. Sleep in, then enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your private deck as mist rises off the forest and birds call in the distance.
Later in the morning, your guide leads you to a scenic viewpoint over the forest, where a picnic is already set up: a blanket, cushions, a basket of gourmet food, and a bottle of champagne, all overlooking one of the best views in Bwindi.
Back at the lodge in the afternoon, a couple’s massage awaits, with two therapists working on you at the same time in the same room, easing any soreness from yesterday’s trek and leaving you thoroughly relaxed.
Another private candlelit dinner follows in the evening, and your lodge may prepare a special honeymoon cake to mark the occasion.
This day is entirely yours, with nothing scheduled. Swim, read, book another spa treatment, or simply stay in bed together, whatever suits you as a couple.
Your lodge may also offer a cooking class, a coffee tour, or a village visit if you feel like getting out. Choose whatever appeals to the two of you.
In the late afternoon, your guide takes you to a special viewpoint for champagne sundowners as the sun sets over the Bwindi forest, the sky turning orange and pink while the forest grows quiet around you.
You return to the lodge for a farewell gourmet dinner, with the chef preparing a menu just for the two of you.
On your final morning, breakfast is at the lodge before your private guide drives you to the airstrip for your charter flight back to Kampala or Kigali, a flight of about one hour.
Your driver meets you on arrival and drops you at your hotel or the international airport for your departure flight.
You head home with memories of gorillas, luxury, and romance, having started married life, or celebrated years of it, with a trip you will keep talking about.
What is not included: international flights, visa fees, travel insurance, tips for guides and porters, additional spa treatments, and personal items.

This safari runs year round. The dry seasons, June through September and December through February, offer the easiest trekking conditions and the clearest views, and many couples choose these months for their honeymoon.
The wet season brings lower prices, greener landscapes, and fewer tourists, so for a quieter and more private experience, consider traveling then.
This itinerary is built for couples who want to celebrate their relationship through adventure and comfort together, seeing mountain gorillas, sharing champagne picnics and spa treatments, and staying at some of the most romantic lodges in Bwindi.
